Classic Charm

My clients wanted a change and were tired of the country décor. By mixing some of the old pieces with the new, this dining room went from country to having a “classic charm”. To give my clients an instant updated look, the old wooden country table and chair set is replaced with a dark espresso stained table and sleek wooden chairs with upholstered seats for that extra comfort. A custom silk valance and roman shade are hung to add warmth and elegance to the window and the room. The country accessories are substituted with some new additions to create a more formal feeling. Finally, the delicate candelabra chandelier is replaced with a heavier traditional chandelier to achieve the desired look.

Exquisite Elegance

Just situated off the front entrance, this dining room exhibits the perfect furnishings for creating a striking dining room, but the room required some finishing touches. Large vertical pictures are added above the side table to add warmth and height to the wall. A large floor vase with warm earthy tones of spray is positioned, by design, to enhance the warm tones in these pictures, as well as, the front entrance. A table centerpiece, candelabras and vine wall sconces are just the right amount of accessories to ensure the desired look. A custom size area rug is placed under the table to help ground everything and pull the room together. Silk shades are added to the existing chandelier for a more traditional feel. And finally, custom designed silk drapery accent and draw attention to the beautiful large window, while at the same time; provide an “exquisite elegance” to the overall décor of this dining room.

Perfect Palette

Painted in “Devine Mocha”, this dining room exhibits a calm and soothing colour palette of dark espresso, cream and soft blue. The ambiance in this dining room is a reflection of this “perfect palette” which is inspired from the beautiful ocean view seen from the large windows that extend across this open concept dining room. Centerpieces of blue and white crackled glass vases with accents of silver metal twigs reflect light onto the table top emulating sparkling water droplets. The identical twig shape pattern is picked up in the fabric of the custom silk drapes which help to bookend the room while at the same time create a symmetrical look. A stunning custom dark espresso stained table helps ground the room and is the ideal size for entertaining family and guests. Positioned at both ends of the custom designed table, an accent dining chair in a neutral cream fabric is the perfect choice to compliment the calm and relaxed atmosphere of this dining room.

Classy Chic

To create a sense of symmetry, and to display my client’s extensive collection of Austin crystal, two corner hutches are positioned in adjacent corners of the dining room. The deep rich tone of the wood furniture along with the warm wall colour would make any dinner guest feel right at home. By placing a large mirror over the sideboard, a reflection of the custom sheer drapes and the Austin crystal chandelier can be viewed from all angles, emphasizing the “classy chic” look and feel of this dining room.
